Staples Sales Operations is seeking a strategic and analytically driven Senior Manager, Sales Analytics & Insights to lead our data initiatives and transform how we understand and engage with our customers, optimize business operations, and drive revenue growth. This role will be instrumental in building a comprehensive data ecosystem that supports decision-making across all areas of the organization

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the design and optimization of scalable data pipelines and architecture using platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, and relational databases.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable data initiatives that improve access, accuracy, and visibility of key sales metrics.
  • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, BI developers, and analysts, fostering professional growth and high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with Product, Commercial, Operations, and IT teams to define requirements and deliver solutions that enhance decision-making.
  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks and quality assurance practices to guarantee reliable analytics.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and metrics that measure operational performance and sales effectiveness.
  • Implement automated reporting systems to streamline delivery of sales and operational metrics.
  • Support AI and advanced analytics initiatives, partnering with research teams to integrate new models and scale infrastructure.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies and analytical tools to enhance data agility and reduce manual effort.

What you bring to the table:

  • Strategic, analytical thinker with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams, leading cross-functional efforts and managing multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, BigQuery and traditional RDBMS systems.
  • Proficiency with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Proven ability to develop and optimize ETL/ELT data pipelines for performance and scalability.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality principles

What's needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Business, Marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics roles.
  • 3+ years of management experience, leading analytical teams or similar. 
  • Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and relational database management.

What's needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Strong project management background, including Agile or hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience with Python, R, dbt, or Airflow for advanced data orchestration and transformation.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their data services.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML integration, model deployment support, and advanced analytics pipelines.
  • Experience implementing data governance frameworks and enterprise data catalogs.
  • Prior experience in sales operations analytics, such as forecasting, territory planning, or performance reporting.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
