POSITION TITLE: Coating Superintendent JOB CODE: COATSUP DIVISION: Onshore/Offshore/ REPORTS TO: Coatings Operations Manager FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt UPDATED DATE: February 14, 2025 DEPARTMENT: Coatings POSITION SUMMARY The Coatings Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day field operations concerning surface preparations and coatings application. This includes planning work activities, providing daily work schedules, assigning specific individual task, ensuring quality workmanship and maintaining a safe working environment. This role ensures that all procedures are followed and that all assigned employees are performing their duties as directed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This is a representative list of the duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive.)
  • Have an unwavering commitment to Safety
  • Managing company & customer assets, including personnel, during on-site blasting & painting operations.
  • Performing QA/QC functions in blasting & painting areas of operations ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Attending, participating and conducting pre-job meetings.
  • Attending, participating and conducting safety meetings.
  • Preparing, analyzing and making necessary modifications to JSEA's.
  • Assisting in and/or directing complete job loadouts.
  • Mentoring personnel while providing on-the-job training.
  • Understand, analyze and decipher safety policies & procedures, coating specifications, scopes of work and project schedules while strategizing & communicating project goals & expectations with the crew.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping is being performed through-out the entire project - inside & outside.
  • Demonstrates strong adherence to Company policies and procedures, as well as Company values
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • HUET certified
  • Valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card)
  • Basic written and verbal skills
  • Must be willing and able to work a 12-16hour shift per day for the duration of a 14/7 offshore schedule
  • Must be able to work from swinging scaffolding
  • Must be able to wear proper PPE/dust mask and/or paint paint
  • Ability to perform work accurately
  • Must be reliable and have good time management skills
  • Physically and mentally fit
  • Manlift and forklift certified
  • Must have a clear understanding of how to navigate and decipher the contents of an SDS book
  • Operational knowledge of, and the ability to troubleshoot, all blasting and painting tools and equipment
  • Ability to work productively in adverse conditions
  • For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen
