This position operates under a hybrid work model based out of our Decatur, AL office. The role requires a regular, routine onsite presence for face-to-face collaboration, team meetings, and hands-on projects, combined with the flexibility of partial remote work. Additionally this position requires up to 30% travel to client sites regionally and throughout the continental US.
Responsibilities

• Provide application/control systems design and development for systems of varying complexity
• Develop and evaluate alternative system solutions that meet stated requirements
• Modify program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems
• Develop proficiency in several programming languages and control device networks for DCS systems, PLCs, or PCs
• Interact with customers to gain an understanding of the business environment and define scope, plans, and deliverables for assigned work
• Work successfully in a matrix structure; focused strongly on customer service and personal growth
• Travel up to 30%

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience
• 5 years' work experience in industrial controls and/or system integration with a strong focus on software design and programming or plant site specific experience with Foxboro DCS
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly
• Material handling or process control design, development, and troubleshooting experience
• Networking experience which may consist of - EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet
• Experience successfully interacting and working with customers at multiple levels of responsibility in a manufacturing or production environment
• Willingness to work beyond core business hours, if necessary, to minimize business interruption during planned or unplanned system modifications
• Have solid verbal and written communication skills
• Successful completion of drug screen and background check

Nice to Have

• Experience with Honeywell DCS
• Experience with Delta-V DCS
• Experience with Yokogawa DCS
• Rockwell ControlLogix PLC Programming experience
• Experience with HMI, WonderWare Intouch / App Server / System Platform
• Experience successfully managing projects with teams of 1 to 2 engineers
• Experience successfully managing technical projects through the entire project cycle including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, commissioning, and closing phases
• Familiar with common Project Management tools for managing budget, schedule, and scope of various size projects
• Experience mentoring engineers on a technical level

• Sitting at a desk or console for extended periods
• Must be able to be fitted for Personal Protective Equipment for certain customers
• Standing and walking on a concrete surface for extended periods
• Kneeling periodically on concrete or padded surfaces
• Lifting and carrying 25 lbs. or more
• Walking/working in mezzanine (screen guard) area (20 - 25 ft. high, wire mesh floor)
• Climbing a ladder or metal stairs to access mezzanine (screen guard) area
• Work in wash-down locations with wet/slippery floors

Work Schedule

• Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
• Must be able to travel and work extended hours
