About the Employer
The ABC Unified School District is known throughout the State of California as a leader in educational planning and innovation. The District has received county, state, and national recognition for outstanding programs in counseling, alternative education, staff development, and labor relations.
Staff members have been selected to participate on state and national educational committees and have been invited to make presentations at national, state, and local conferences. Students have been recognized as National Merit scholars, academic decathlon winners, and participants in the Model United Nations program. Approximately 85 percent of the graduating students go on to higher education.
The ABC Unified School District includes nineteen elementary schools, five middle schools, three comprehensive high schools, a college prep 7-12 school, a continuation high school, infant/children centers, extended-day care, and adult school.
Job Summary
ATHLETIC TRAINER - PROFESSIONAL EXPERT
ABC Unified School District High Schools
Temporary Assignment (July 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026)
No Health Benefits/No Holidays
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the school's principal and athletic director, provide comprehensive athletic training services to student-athletes by assessing and treating sports-related injuries; implementing injury prevention programs; coordinating with coaches and medical professionals; maintaining accurate medical records; and educating student-athletes on proper training techniques and injury prevention. Monitor and manage the athletic training facility, including equipment and supplies. Attend athletic events and practices as required to provide immediate care for injured athletes. Assume such other duties as the principal or the district may assign
QUALIFICATIONS:
College-level course work in physical education, athletic training or a related field and one year of experience involving the care, management and prevention of athletic injuries.
Current Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) from the Board of Certification (BOC) required.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
Experience working with secondary school athletes preferred.
