To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Failure Analysis Engineer located in Salt Lake City, UT.

In this role, the potential candidate will be responsible for Implementing and maintaining cost-effective methods of troubleshooting systems, software, and/or equipment. Would be responsible for implementing Solutions on Critical items to propose to the customers and to keep in good health the failure inventories of the repair or manufacturing process.

The potential candidate would be responsible to keep and increase the technical knowledge and work with education department to develop or make planning to train the technical people. In order to have a good flexibility between projects or technologies and to keep in good health the technician efficiency and effectiveness indicators.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Directs and/or coordinates technical personnel in design of methods of failure analysis
  • Directs activities concerned with development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices for debug
  • Directs and coordinate the strategies of debug the failure product of the test process.
  • Determines conditions and procedures under which The debug is to be conducted and Indicators and phases of Debug Process.
  • Interfaces and confers with scientific, engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing and troubleshooting problems such as failures of product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, Failure Analysis Reports, new solutions, obsolete components data interpretation or coding issues.
  • Analyzes and interprets Failure's data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering, and management personnel.
  • Develops or uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software.
  • Trains and instructs floor support, debug technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, failures solutions as well as proper problem-solving techniques.
  • Resolves test yield problems by performing analysis of root causes, developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.
  • Analyze circuits and topologies to identify marginal issues or compatibility issues between components
  • Yield trend and pareto analysis to identify epidemic failures that required deeper analysis
  • Develop and monitoring the efficacy and efficiency metrics to improve diagnostic process
  • Provide technical documentation and tools for diagnostic purpose
  • Specialized Job Responsibilities may be required for certain positions. These could include one or more of the following duties:

FUNCTIONAL Responsibilities

  • Develops and/or supports diagnostic tests at the card edge level/PCBs .
  • Supports improvements to functional test hardware.
  • Develops test plans and procedures.
  • Coordinates 3rd party development of functional test development and enhancements.

The Experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • 6 years of experience in engineering in the electricals or related field as we are dealing with Server assembly.
  • Failure Analysis Engineer specializing in server electronic boards
  • Root cause analysis, component-level troubleshooting, and reliability improvement.
  • Experienced in diagnosing complex PCB issues
  • Expertise in electronic circuits and debugging, as well as knowledge of IPC(In process Control)
