Job description

Victor Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is looking for a strong & experienced ‘Hands-On' Service Manager to run a growing Service Department.  Responsible for controlling costs, maintaining good employee relationships, obtaining sales and profit objectives, and building a loyal clientele. The ideal candidate will be a team-builder, team-player, and customer-focused, organized, and highly motivated.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Service Department to include Auto Technicians, Service Advisors, Detailers and Service Lane
  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them
  • Work with the Parts Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs
  • Ensure customers vehicles are diagnosed and serviced properly and in a timely manner
  • Ensure customers are kept informed of the status of repairs, and timing of completion
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely and effective manner
  • Manage all warranty submissions
  • Conduct regular Service Department meetings, including safety meetings
  • Ensure that all required position-based training and testing is completed on a timely basis by all department team members
  • Ensure that the service department remains in compliance with OSHA, DEC etc. regulations
  • Must be results- driven, highly energized, and a customer service-oriented leader
  • Must have a passion for taking care of customers
  • Motivate, train, develop, and reward employees
  • Maintain value, quality, integrity, and a high Customer Service Index measurement

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Previous franchise dealership Service Management experience required (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram a plus) ; Parts Management experience in addition is a plus
  • Knowledge of dealership warranty process and policies; dealership financial statements; principles and processes for providing customer service
  • The ability to identify causes of operating errors and the knowledge to create and implement corrective actions
  • The ability to use good judgment in challenging situations
  • A professional demeanor when interacting with customers
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
