Job description

Position Summary
Responsible for the accuracy, professional, and proficient manner in dealing a specific poker game according to the Company's policies and procedures and in compliance with the Gaming Regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Greets new customers and assists in seating and transferring customers.
  2. Responsible for the protection, control and the integrity of games being dealt.
  3. Expedites new customer chip buys and assists with table fills.
  4. Responsible for following shuffle procedures: box strip, card delivery/pitch, deck protection, accountability of discards, deck hands, accuracy and control.
  5. Deals predetermined number of cards, in proper sequence around the table, based upon games being dealt and number of players.
  6. Conducts the games in accordance with the Company's Policies & Procedures, handling players transactions and notifying Poker Management of any irregularities.
  7. Complies with Sandia Resort and Casino System of Internal Controls.
  8. Controls all card table gaming actions and enforces proper game rules and company policies and procedures.
  9. Responsible for taking the proper rake and Bad Beat Jackpot/Promotional collection.
  10. Ensures that players follow proper betting procedures.
  11. Responsible for counting and verifying impressed bank.
  12. Maintains a professional, friendly and courteous atmosphere providing the customers with a pleasant gaming experience.
  13. Responsible to understand and observe the proper dealer rotation.
  14. Responsible for following all procedures with regards to the acceptance of tips.
  15. Promotes Player's Club Card registration with customers.
  16. Responsible for adhering to Title 31 procedures.
  17. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

Additional Responsibilities
  1. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
  2. A quality guest service experience is an essential component for all Team members working at the Pueblo of Sandia particularly those positions assigned to work in all public areas.

  2. Reflects a sense of trust, comfort and understanding by demonstrating empathy for guests when problems occur.

  4. Possesses knowledge and understanding of all products and services offered.
  5. Builds relationships with guests based upon respect, and confidence while maintaining a friendly, and approachable demeanor.

Key Performance Indicators
This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) identified as a measurement of success. KPI's will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI's as part of the performance review process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Ability to deal with cards in an acceptable manner, as determined by management.
  2. Ability to deal with co-workers and the general public in a patient, courteous, friendly and professional manner.
  3. Ability to handle cash/chip exchanges efficiently and accurately.
  4. Ability to receive, count and pay out tournament winnings.
  5. Knowledge of card suits and winning poker combinations.
  6. Knowledge of the processes, rules and procedures utilized in poker games.
  7. Ability to follow all bad beat jackpot procedures/payouts.
  8. Ability to deal in all types of tournaments.
  9. Complete understanding of Poker Card Room rules and procedures.
  10. Knowledge of proper use of shuffle machine procedures.
  11. Ability to work odd and unusual hours, including weekends, and overtime.

Education and Experience
Required:
  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. One (1) year prior poker dealing experience preferred. The completion of an external structure training program with certification, in house training program, or the passing of a table audition may substitute for experience.
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  4. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Note: Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations
  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License.
  2. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

  4. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft-carpeted floors. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
