Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing strong leadership and operational oversight of all warehouse and logistics activities across multiple buildings and product channels. This key leadership role ensures safe, efficient, accurate, and timely execution of shipping, receiving, inventory management, and material movement. Acting as the primary point of contact for the warehouse team, the Supervisor directly manages day-to-day performance, attendance, safety compliance, and work quality issues. The role focuses on resolving routine concerns promptly while escalating complex matters to the Plant Manager as needed, driving a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

  • Supervises daily warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Executes department plans established by management and adjusts daily priorities to meet changing business demands.
  • Provides direct leadership, coaching, and development for hourly warehouse team members.
  • Supports recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new employees.
  • Prioritizes daily work assignments and communicates expectations through Daily Direction Setting (DDS), including:
    • Daily KPIs (trucks shipping, staging requirements, inventory movement, etc.).
    • Safety topics.
    • Pre-shift stretching.
    • Daily operational priorities.
    • Operational challenges or abnormalities.
  • Monitors workflow throughout the shift and resolves day-to-day operational issues involving people, equipment, or processes.
  • Performs administrative responsibilities including attendance tracking, timekeeping, coaching documentation, performance discussions, and production reporting.
  • Maintains staffing levels throughout the shift by coordinating breaks, lunches, and labor assignments.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives and participates in department projects.
  • Provides leadership coverage during the absence of other supervisors or managers as needed.
  • Promotes a strong safety culture by ensuring employees understand job hazards, required PPE, safe work practices, and company safety procedures.
  • Promotes quality by ensuring employees recognize product defects, packaging concerns, labeling errors, and escalation procedures.
  • Trains employees on work instructions, standard operating procedures, equipment operation, and company policies.
  • Ensures new employees receive effective onboarding and documents all required training.
  • Provides clear daily work direction and timely feedback to hourly employees.
  • Transports employees between worksites as needed in accordance with company transportation policies.
  • Supports other departments as requested by management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and 5S initiatives while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Supervise daily shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory operations.
  • Ensure proper storage, staging, and movement of inventory.
  • Coordinate daily workflow to maximize labor efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain shipping documentation and ensure required records are complete and accurate.
  • Verify shipping documentation and resolve shipment shortages, overages, inventory discrepancies, and customer issues.
  • Coordinate shipment compliance with customer requirements.
  • Coordinate daily product flow with Production to meet shipping schedules.
  • Assign labor based on operational priorities and changing business needs.
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide coaching to improve performance.
  • Ensure equipment is operated safely and report maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards throughout warehouse operations.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate hourly warehouse employees.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate hourly employees.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to make sound operational decisions within established guidelines.
  • Ability to train employees and hold team members accountable for performance and safety expectations.

Education

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
  • Role-Specific Skills.
  • Strong communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other CHB facilities as needed.
