Building Automation Service Technician- HVAC Controls Technician

Central & Northern New Jersey | Company Vehicle | Local NJ Travel Only

Join an established, well respected full-service building automation/mechanical contractor as a BAS Controls Field Service Technician. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting and servicing HVAC building automation systems across commercial and industrial facilities.

****This is a field-based HVAC / Building Automation role****

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and service BAS / HVAC control systems
  • Program, modify, and commission controllers (Niagara N4, JCI, Siemens, Honeywell, etc.)
  • Perform point-to-point checkout, diagnosis, repair, and maintain
  • Work with BACnet, Modbus, and system integrations
  • Interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Support retrofits, upgrades, and service calls
  • Provide on-site customer support and training
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reports

Preferred Experience:

  • At least two (2) or more years of BAS / HVAC Controls field service experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with DDC control systems
  • Experience working with HVAC equipment: AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, VRF systems
  • Familiarity with Niagara (AX/N4), JCI, Siemens, Honeywell, Distech or similar
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and schematics
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
