Job description

DCPS Community Partnerships Fellow
George Washington University (GW) is seeking VISTAs to serve as School Community Partnerships VISTA Fellows in DC public schools. The VISTAs will liaise with employee volunteer programs, college volunteers, families, community and faith-based organizations to support student success and enrichment programs in the school. VISTAs will create and maintain assessments, databases, and communication tools. VISTAs will build education-related knowledge and experience, as well as partnership development, project management, and communication skills. The year-long project term is somewhat variable, based on the start date. We are seeking candidates who excel in relationship-building, are results-oriented and comfortable taking initiative, and have strong communications and project management skills. This is a full-time (40hrs a week) 12 month service term with the GWServes AmeriCorps VISTA Program.
Member Duties : The successful Community Partnerships VISTA Fellow candidate will: • Support in school and afterschool academic and student and family enrichment programs • Plan and execute a series of partner engagement opportunities • Coordinate with school and GW personnel to develop program standards and training • Codify the partner intake and vetting process • Build innovative programs • Create and disseminate communications in a variety of media • plan and carry out school events • Additional capacity-building activities as assigned
