Job description

Summary
National Power has an immediate need for a dependable, detail-oriented Level 3 DC Installer to join our team in the southeastern U.S., with work primarily in Florida (work in other states as necessary). Under the general direction of and reporting to the CI Manager, the Level III DC Installer will assist the Level IV lead installer working on DC power equipment, to include the addition and removal of circuits on working live power distribution, testing and turn ups. Due to the critical potential of safety, service disruption, and business security for the network, you will complete a 90-day probationary period to demonstrate skill level completion of essential job functions for continued employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Generate revenue by working with the lead installer to execute sales transactions which address and provide product / applications solutions to complex business issues
  • Perform work operations on working equipment or circuits with direct supervision from lead installer
  • Work with the lead installer on DC Power transition work (cut-over on live equipment)
  • Assist in the addition or removal of telecom batteries
  • Assist the lead installer in performing equipment testing and turn-up
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections
  • Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines
  • Communicate with the lead installer on all aspects of the job throughout the duration of the job
  • Perform work assignments assigned by lead installer/supervisor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will possess the ability and willingness to do the following:

  • Consistently lift and carry at least 75 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, and climb ladders for extended periods
  • Work on ladders at various heights for prolonged periods
  • Frequently reach above, below, and at shoulder level
  • Frequently bend, twist, stoop, crouch, and squat
  • Adequate vision and hearing to safely perform essential job functions
  • Fine manipulation of the hands/fingers to perform skilled tasks
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle

Education/Experience/Skills

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in DC power equipment installation
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience of the addition or removal of wiring and connections on non-equipment on DC power equipment or addition or removal of telecom batteries (skill sets for a Level II installer)
  • Valid driver’s license required
