Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Test & Tuning of RF and DC circuits

2. Troubleshooting of DC circuits down to component level

3. Collect and log data accurately from test processes

4. Perform soldering, wire bonding, and ribbon bonding under a microscope

5. Assist in the testing and troubleshooting of RF power amplifiers, analog, and digital circuit boards (including FPGAs, timing circuits, and converters)

6. Work on the integration of RF transmitter/receiver subsystems (PAs, LNAs, T/R switches, and power supplies)

7. Maintain and organize test documentation to meet internal quality standards

Education:

  • Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technician or Higher

Skills / Requirements:

1. Strong understanding of basic circuit elements and electronic components, including:

  • Resistors, capacitors, inductors
  • Transistor types (NPN, PNP, FET) and biasing
  • Operational amplifier configurations
  • Basic digital logic (AND, OR, XOR)
  • AC/DC and DC/DC converters

2. Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics

3. Detail-oriented with solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

4. Comfortable working both independently and in a team

5. Able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

6. Demonstrated documentation and data entry skills to maintain test records

7. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without employer sponsorship.

8. Experience working within the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) environment is considered an asset.

9. Must be able to obtain CGP registration.

Preferred Skills:

1. Hands-on experience using lab equipment such as:

  • Multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers

2. Understanding of S-parameter measurements

3. Experience working with surface-mount and chip-and-wire components under a microscope

4. Cleanroom experience and/or certification for working with SMT components is an asset

Experience:

1. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting

2. Prior work in an electronics lab or cleanroom environment is preferred
