Job description

We are looking for dedicated Warehouse Associate in Decatur, IL 62526 with $20.00/hr pay for a 3-month temp-to-perm opportunity). You will be the backbone of our inventory management and distribution system—handling the safe receiving, organized storage, accurate order fulfillment, and seamless shipping of our electrical materials. This position is ideal for an individual who takes pride in active, hands-on work, maintains high ethical standards, and thrives in a safety-first team environment. – APPLY NOW!

Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM


Dress Code:

Shirt, jeans or non-athletic pants with no holes. Steel-toe shoes are strictly required (candidate must provide their own footwear; safety vests will be provided on-site).


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Sales Tracking & Order Fulfillment: Safely receive, check, and store incoming materials against receiving tickets to guarantee total inventory accuracy; identify and immediately document any damaged or defective stock. Accurately pull and pack pick-orders for shipment, prepare vital shipping documentation (including bills of lading), and verify outbound orders before dispatch.
  • Merchandising & Warehouse Maintenance: Safely load and unload materials from delivery trucks using proper body mechanics and material handling equipment (such as forklifts), ensuring all associated shipping documentation is accounted for. Assist in general warehouse organization and housekeeping to maintain an efficient, hazard-free workspace.
  • Customer Service & Product Knowledge: Greet and assist customers with a cheerful, helpful attitude, while actively developing a deep knowledge of electrical products and their specific storage locations within our warehouse.
  • Interdepartmental Support: Conduct designated stock checks for the Purchasing Department upon request, report any suspicious facility activities immediately to management, and execute other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with atleast 1 or more years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, push, pull, and maneuver safely at heights or in tight, confined spaces for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to routinely lift, carry, and transport work-related materials weighing up to 75 lbs. frequently, and occasionally in excess of 75 lbs.
  • Ability to safely navigate active construction sites while carrying work-related items.
  • Ability to utilize a standard computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone.
  • Basic familiarity using a personal computer is a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills with an ability to multi-task.
  • A high commitment to professional ethics, a customer-centric attitude, and the ability to work highly effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
