The Inventory Clerk is a specialist role responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and organization of all inventory within the distribution center. This position oversees cycle count programs, investigates and resolves stock discrepancies, maintains location and SKU data within the warehouse management system, and partners with operations and management to ensure inventory visibility across the Warehouse/DC. The Inventory clerk operates with a high degree of independence and serves as the subject matter expert for all inventory-related processes, systems, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

•         Own and manage the Warehouse/DC cycle count program, including scheduling, execution, reconciliation, and reporting of results to management.

•         Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

•         Maintain accurate location, SKU, and quantity data within the warehouse management system (Blue Cherry); perform system adjustments as authorized.

•         Lead and coordinate physical inventory events, including full wall-to-wall counts and targeted audits.

•         Monitor inventory accuracy metrics on an ongoing basis and present findings and trends to the Distribution Manager.

•         Partner with the Operations Coordinator and warehouse supervisors to align replenishment needs, overstock resolution, and shortage communication.

•         Ensure proper product slotting, labeling, and location integrity throughout the warehouse.

•         Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for inventory control processes across the Warehouse/DC.

•         Train and support Material Handler team members on inventory best practices, system use, and count procedures.

•         Coordinate with inbound receiving to ensure accurate documentation and system updates upon product receipt.

•         Identify and escalate systemic inventory issues, vendor discrepancies, or process gaps to management.

•         Maintain compliance with all company safety, documentation, and audit standards.

Requirements

•         High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field a plus.

•         Minimum 1-2 years of warehouse or distribution center experience, with at least 2 years in an inventory control or coordination role.

•         Demonstrated expertise in cycle counting methodologies, inventory reconciliation, and stock accuracy programs.

•         Proficiency in Blue Cherry WMS or a comparable warehouse management system required.

•         Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for inventory reporting and data analysis.

•         Valid forklift certification is preferred.

•         Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.

•         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and communicate findings clearly.

•         Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
