OVERVIEW:

Overview:

The Logistics Analyst I plays a critical leadership role in overseeing outbound logistics operations at assigned Distribution Centers. This position is directly responsible for building and optimizing store delivery schedules, managing dedicated 3rd party contract carriers, owning financial forecasting and P&L accountability for outbound transportation, and driving on-time delivery performance. Working autonomously with DC leadership teams, this role ensures efficient execution, cost management, and continuous improvement while serving as the key liaison between Outbound Logistics, DC Operations, Store Operations, and other stakeholders. The role leverages Manhattan's Active Transportation Management (MATM) to manage end-to-end transportation lifecycle (planning, execution, visibility, and freight payment), robust analytics for strategic decision-making, data-driven insights, and process excellence to support broader Supply Chain and company goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily execution of outbound store delivery schedules for the DC network. Proactively communicate schedule changes with carriers, stores, Shipping/Loading teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Directly manage 3rd party dedicated contract carrier, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and relationship management to ensure reliable, cost-effective outbound deliveries
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional process improvement and strategic projects leveraging technology and operational capabilities. Includes process documentation, SOP development, and implementation
  • Provide advanced TMS production support, serve as SME for Logistics processes across Supply Chain systems, and collaborate with IT on enhancements/troubleshooting
  • Coordinate shipments/returns and act as primary liaison with DC leadership, Loss Prevention, Field Operations and Store Operations Leadership
  • Support and contribute to departmental and local DC-specific objectives, including delivery performance, efficiency initiatives, and leadership engagement
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills (including DC leadership engagement)
  • Execution skills, project management knowledge, ability to drive projects and manage cross-functional teams
  • Business/financial acumen with P&L management experience
  • Customer-service oriented, self-motivated, results-oriented
  • In-depth analytical skills; ability to analyze large datasets and translate into actionable insights/reports
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Problem-solving, troubleshooting capabilities
  • Process and procedure oriented
  • Leadership capabilities, ability to work effectively in team and autonomous environments
  • Additional: Strategic thinking, carrier management, forecasting expertise, knowledge of transportation industry regulations/compliance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree focus in Business, Finance, Logistics or Supply Chain

  • 1 - 3 years' knowledge of the transportation industry

  • General appreciation for Supply Chain technology solutions, including TMS, WMS, Yard Management and EDI
