Job description

JOB TITLE: Programmer/Analyst Enterprise Applications                                    
Pay Grade: TN05
REPORTS TO: Director of Enterprise Applications          
TERM: 240 Days  
DEPARTMENT: Technology Division 




Primary Purpose  

The Enterprise Applications Report Writer/Programmer develops and maintains applications, reports, and databases. 

Qualifications: 

  • BS in Computer Science, or related area, or equivalent professional experience
    • Demonstrated competence in report writing, SQL, and database systems support, management, setup, maintenance, and interfacing.

Experience:  

  • Minimum 3 years' experience with maintenance of complex, enterprise-scale client/server systems.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with report development  

Special Knowledge and Skills:  

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain systems documentation and end user manuals
  • Ability to work well with various stakeholders at all levels of the district.
  • Customer centered and service oriented 

Preferred Technical Skills 

  • SSRS / Power BI
  • DBVisualizer
  • Microsoft SQL Server Administration
  • T-SQL Development
  • Database performance tuning
  • Microsoft Visual Studio experience a plus

Major Responsibilities and Duties: 

  1. Develop and maintain complex reports using PowerBI, Frontline, and Skyward, using multiple data connections to various data source types.
  2. Develop, maintain, and update complex SQL scripts.
  3. Monitor and maintain data quality, integrity, and consistency across databases, applications, and integrated systems.
  4. Design and design other solutions when necessary, including minor projects using Microsoft Visual Studio or other aspx languages.
  5. Configure and maintain system workflows, business rules, security roles, approval processes, and application settings to support district operations.
  6. Collaborate with district departments and campus personnel to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and develop effective technology solutions that support operational and instructional objectives.
  7. Coordinate with district staff, software vendors, and third-party providers regarding support requests, system enhancements, product issues, and performance concerns.
  8. Develop and maintain technical documentation, process guides, and written procedures related to programming, system administration, integrations, and operational workflows.
  9. Participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain and expand knowledge of enterprise applications, database technologies, reporting platforms, and industry best practices.
  10. Provide technical support and assistance to users through help desk tickets, email, telephone, and other support channels.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to read, write, understand, interpret, and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a college proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records. Understand how to manage stress and work with frequent interruptions. 

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: 

Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computers; steady phone interactions; continuous sitting, reaching, and bending. Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds.
