Job Description We are seeking a Java Technical Lead (Quality Engineering & Automation) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Spring ecosystem, Agile delivery, and quality engineering automation and a proven ability to lead cross-functional scrum teams, maintain robust automation suites, and deliver secure, high-performance applications.

Responsibilities: Provide hands-on technical leadership for day-to-day system development and maintenance. Manage complex assignments, remove bottlenecks, and meet sprint velocity SLAs. Develop technical roadmaps and prioritize work across quarterly PI planning.

Partner with Solution Architects on implementation flows and lead code grooming and reviews. Drive QE methodologies and maintain daily automation regression suites. Ensure comprehensive Unit, System, Integration, and Performance testing coverage.

Conduct Quality Inspections and walkthroughs across Requirements, Architecture, Design, and Security. Identify process improvements to enhance effectiveness and time-to-market. Mentor junior engineers and deliver training and brownbag sessions on emerging technologies.

Lead production incident management, perform RCA, and drive remediation. Required Skills & Qualifications: Advanced Java with strong OOP concepts; Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud (Cloud Config, Cloud Foundry). Maven, Bitbucket (Git) for build and version control.

API automation using BDD (JBehave) and GUI automation with Selenium WebDriver. Manual REST/SOAP testing with Insomnia, SoapUI, and Postman. Database testing with DBVisualizer for PostgreSQL and Oracle; unit testing with JUnit.

CI/CD with Jenkins; defect tracking with Jira or ALM; Unix (RedHat, Mint). 7+ years of relevant software engineering and quality engineering experience. Preferred Skills: Experience delivering secure solutions in Financial Services.

Background testing Network Management Systems and operating as a Software Engineer in Test. Proven leadership of Agile scrum teams across the full SDLC in matrixed, distributed environments. Why BCforward?
