Familiarity with database platforms like Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate are highly valued. Analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are essential soft skills for managing data integrity and collaborating with IT teams. These skills ensure reliable data storage, optimized performance, and the security of critical business information.

What are some common challenges faced by DBAs in the USA, and how can they be addressed?

What is a DBA in the USA?

A DBA, or 'Doing Business As,' is a registration that allows an individual or company to conduct business under a name different from their legal name in the United States. This is commonly used by sole proprietors or businesses that want to operate under a unique brand without forming a separate legal entity. Registering a DBA is required by most states to ensure transparency and protect consumers, and it typically involves filing with a local or state government office. A DBA does not provide legal protection for your business name, nor does it create a separate legal entity, but it is essential for branding and opening business bank accounts.

Database Administrator

We are seeking a Database Administrator II who will create, manage, and ensure the accuracy of Crystal Reports and SSRS. When data doesn't match, they'll dive deep to troubleshoot discrepancies, while managing SQL database integrity, performance and designs for scalability and compliance. They'll collaborate with our existing DBA to document processes and ensure knowledge continuity.

What You'll Do

  • Create, modify, and maintain Crystal Reports and SSRS, ensuring accuracy, performance, and alignment with underlying data structures.
  • Investigate and resolve data and reporting discrepancies, tracing issues across reports, stored procedures, and source tables to determine root cause.
  • Collaborate with the existing DBA in working sessions, capturing knowledge, documenting processes, and contributing to shared SQL/report repositories.
  • Own SQL development and data-layer logic, including writing and optimizing queries, stored procedures, triggers, and data transformations.
  • Manage database integrity, performance, and reliability, including backups, restores, indexing, and proactive tuning.
  • Design and support scalable, audit-ready data solutions, incorporating performance optimization, auditability, and long-term growth considerations.
  • Ensure data security and compliance alignment, supporting standards such as SOC 2, CMMC, and ISO 27001 in database and reporting design

What You Bring

  • Minimum 4–6 years of SQL database administration (backups, schema, triggers, and integrity).
  • Experience optimizing queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Crystal Reports and SSRS.
  • Familiarity with financial data flows or ERP systems (Vista ERP is a plus).
  • Security- and compliance-minded, familiar with frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
  • Clear documentation habits, contributing to shared repositories.

Why Join Us?

You'll be part of a supportive, fast-moving team where your work has direct impact and high visibility. We value initiative, craftsmanship, teamwork, and continuous learning. This is an opportunity to help shape modern development standards, contribute to meaningful digital transformation, and grow your career alongside a team that cares about building excellent solutions and automations.
