Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES


  • Create, maintain and drive the plumbing work schedule, coordinate with general contractor schedule and other trades.
  • Oversee day-to-day plumbing operations on site for commercial projects, including rough-in, piping, fixtures, drainage, storm, domestic water, gas, and specialty plumbing system.
  • Supervise, mentor and direct foremen, lead plumbers and craft labor. Assign daily tasks and verify work quality.
  • Review plans, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs and scope of work and ensure installations follow drawings, specifications and local code.
  • Monitor labor productivity, job costing and material usage; review time sheets and job cost reports and recommend corrective actions to keep work on budget.
  • Manage procurement and distribution of plumbing materials and equipment; track material deliveries to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate and host plumbing coordination meetings, infection control or site-specific meetings and walkdowns with GC, MEP trades and inspectors.
  • Schedule, accompany and respond to building inspections. Ensure timely resolution to punch-list items and permit closeouts.
  • Enforce site safety programs, OSHA requirements and company safety polices. Perform toolbox talks and safety audits.
  • Maintain clear, timely documentation: daily reports, RFIs change order documentation, submittal logs, and as-built notes.
  • Address absenteeism issues by referencing the Attendance Activity Calendar with the Payroll office. Document and distribute Disciplinary Actions to personnel as required by Attendance Policy.
  • Perform all quality control measures which include testing/checking rough-in dimensions and installation practices to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify other training needs requirements and facilitate delivery of that training with the Field Supervisor.
  • Set and maintain work standards and outline behavioral expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity.
  • Promote, support and facilitate teamwork and harmony of crews by fostering positive teamwork attitude.
  • Support project management and estimating teams with field input for change orders, claims and constructability reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS


  • 10+ years of commercial plumbing and at least 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations and permit processes relevant to the project location.
  • Strong blueprint reading and technical skills.
  • Must demonstrate the following skills: Ability to work cooperatively with other trades, exceptional employee productivity management and project management, analytical and problem solving skills, decision making skills, exceptional team player-energetic, goal oriented, positive, optimistic, and great attitude, strong customer service/communication and people skills, very personable, effective written communication skills, stress and time management skills, attention to detail, willingness to learn new techniques, ability to educate the customer.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel between job sites as required.
  • Must demonstrate the following personal attributes: Honesty and trustworthiness, respectfulness. Cultural awareness and sensitivity, flexibility, sound work ethics and accountability.
  • OSHA 30-hour or equivalent safety certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Required to wear protection equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety shoes, high visibility vest and other items as required
  • Frequent moderate lifting, repetitive motion, bending, walking, climbing ladders, and working from heights
  • Occasional heavy lifting, kneeling, stooping, and crouching
  • Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures, precipitation, confined spaces, loud conditions, heights and other environments
  • The Foreman may be called out by the Field Supervisor at odd hours or have to work long hours in cases of emergency maintenance and repairs

Wage Range: $45/hour and up. Compensation based on knowledge and experience.
