Job description

Position Summary

An Asbury Inn & Suites Housekeeper works under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper to help ensure and maintain the cleanliness of the entire Asbury Inn & Suites facility, including guestrooms, public spaces, offices, etc. An Asbury Inn & Suites Housekeeper strives to contribute to the Seminary's mission of hospitality by providing a clean and welcoming environment for all guests and visitors at the Inn.

Essential Functions

  1. Cleaning Guestrooms
    • Fill out and interpret housekeeping reports, as well as understand the hotel management software
    • Clean and disinfect guestrooms (remove trash and dirty linens, make beds, vacuum, clean bathrooms)
    • Perform yearly "Deep Cleaning" of rooms (move furniture, turn mattresses, clean a/c units, defrost refrigerators, clean walls, etc.
    • Communicate with Executive Housekeeper and Front Desk Staff regarding room statuses and potential maintenance.
    • Coordinate with Front Desk Staff to provide stayover service for guests currently in house.
  2. Maintain Linens, Towels, and other Guestroom Amenities
    • Sort, wash, fold, and store laundry.
    • Stock various closets with linens, towels, cleaning supplies, and guestroom amenities.
  3. Clean Hotel Facilities
    • Clean, disinfect, vacuum, sweep/mop, and collect trash in offices, front desk area, and public restrooms.
    • Perform bi-weekly cleaning of hallways, public spaces, stairwells, laundry and fitness facilities, housekeeping areas, etc.
  4. Assist Executive Housekeeper with Guestroom Projects & Upgrades a. Work under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper to assist in the replacement or upgrade of furniture, guestroom amenities, etc.

Required/Preferred Skills

  1. Basic knowledge of custodial skills and procedures.
  2. Ability to prioritize job duties.
  3. Good organizational skills.
  4. Lifting up to 40 lbs, possibly on a daily basis.
  5. Must be able to work at least two weekends (or four weekend days) per month.
  6. Must be able to work holidays excluding Christmas.
  7. Availability to work beyond scheduled shift on an emergency basis.
