JOB DESCRIPTION 

The purpose of Housekeeping Supervisor position at Fairfield Inn & Suites Ottawa and Hampton Inn & Suites Ottawa is to provide world class service to all guests. The Housekeeping Supervisor will help train and supervise the operations of the housekeeping department so that they provide superior customer service, promote a safe environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction, protection of assets and minimal expenses. The Housekeeping Supervisor supervises daily operation in maintaining the maintenance/sanitation of the guest rooms and public areas. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, and strong customer service skills.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and inspect cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Manage rotational and special cleaning projects.
  • Address guest requests and concerns to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain open communication with team members and departments, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
  • Report maintenance issues to engineering for prompt resolution.
  • Handle lost and found items and respond to inquiries.
  • Participate in hotel meetings and committees as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbsand stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Must perform tasks involving reaching, bending, and twisting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED; relevant work experience required.
  • Prior housekeeping or hotel experience and strong supervision skills.
  • Excellent vision for conducting inspections and reading reports.
  • Friendly demeanor with strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Experience with Windows-based software is preferred.
