Job description

Idaho Forest Group is currently seeking a Weekend Maintenance Technician to join our team at our state of the art sawmill in Lumberton, Mississippi. The successful candidate will install, repair and maintain all plant machinery and equipment in optimal working conditions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare machine centers for daily use
  • Perform predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance procedures on manufacturing equipment using cutting, welding, power and hand tools
  • Assemble, install and repair equipment following blueprints and schematics
  • Maintain a production level work pace
  • Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSA’s
  • Ability to work at varying heights
  • Must be willing to provide your own tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work various shifts, days, weekend and overtime as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4,000 hours of verifiable industrial maintenance mechanic experience required
  • Certification in hydraulics and pneumatics, crane and rigging, wire and stick welding required
  • Working knowledge of industrial equipment
  • Knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics, crane and rigging, wire and stick required
  • Proficient in power drive systems, welding, bearings, and lubrication
  • Knowledge of OSHA and State Regulations
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High School diploma or GED

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs.

  • Frequent climbing stairs
  • Frequent and repetitive use of upper extremities (i.e. shoulders, arms, wrists, hands) in gripping, turning, manipulating objects of various sizes, shapes, weights
  • Repetitious bending, kneeling or stretching
  • Repetitious pushing and pulling 20lbs at 30” working height
  • Occasional walking short distances
  • Occasional lifting 50 lbs from floor to 30” working height
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting 100 lbs to 30” working height with the use of a dolly or hoist height

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Must be able to tolerate extreme hot, humid, cold, and outdoor conditions. Comfortable working in loud environment, around moving machinery, with vibrations and airborne particles (sawdust).
