Registered Nurse - Same Day Surgery

Part Time Day Shift - TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital

Location: 

375 Dixmyth Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45220

Work Schedule: 

  • Part Time Days - (48 hours bi-weekly)
  • 9:00am - 9:30pm
  • Weekend rotation
  • Holiday rotation 

This Same-Day Surgery unit offers a highly desirable schedule with no weekends or holidays, supporting strong work-life balance and flexibility. The team is known for its diverse, collaborative, and fun culture, creating a positive and engaging work environment. Staff benefit from exposure to a wide variety of service lines, including plastics, bariatrics, urology, neurosurgery, general surgery, orthopedics, and gynecology, providing a well-rounded clinical experience. The unit features 25 pre- and post-operative bays and maintains a moderately busy pace, making it an ideal setting for nurses who enjoy a dynamic yet manageable workflow.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree - Nursing (Required) 
  • New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.  (Required)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience in Telemetry or ICU/Critical Care (Required)
  • Experience in Same Day Surgery or a similar setting is preferred
  • Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
  • Registered Nurse Required 
  • ACLS PALS may be required but is dependent on unit or department Preferred 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Perform initial and ongoing patient/family assessments and document per guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care based on patient needs and expected outcomes.
  • Provide safe, ethical, patientcentered care while supporting dignity, diversity, and autonomy.
  • Prioritize care based on patient condition and unit needs.
  • Safely administer medications and treatments; perform technical skills per policy.
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and revise plans in collaboration with the care team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Supervise delegated tasks and ensure quality care delivery.
  • Participate in organizational activities such as committees, staff meetings, and unit initiatives.
