The Role:
  • TheUtility Operatorwill follow the Ardent Mills core values ofTrust, Serving, Simplicity and Safety
  • The UtilityOperator is responsible forgeneral sanitation duties including the disassembly, cleaning/sanitation and reassembly of processing equipment
  • Must be able to work in various conditions and different heights
  • Must be able to read, follow and retain detailed instructions for numerous different tasks and maintain records according to instructions
  • Must be mindful at all times of personal safety and the safety of those working in the same area and adhere to all safety rules at all times
  • Must keep food safety in mind at all times while performing cleaning procedures
  • Able to cross-train for assistance in other departments as needed

Principal Accountabilities:
  • General labor performing tasks such as vacuuming, brushing, sweeping, scraping, scrubbing and washing of floors, walls, racks and equipment.
  • Process equipmentcleaning. Break down and re-assemble.
  • Fill out accurate and detailed paperwork
  • Light maintenance activities involving rollstands, filters, sifters, and other processing equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions/Requirements:
  • Work will be done primarily in a plant atmosphere.
  • Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to50lbs.is required
  • Able to perform physical labor of cleaning and to work all day on feet on both dry and wet surfaces
  • Able to work efficiently while being cautious and careful not to create hazards which couldendangerself or others
  • Good work ethic with high personal standards for cleanliness
  • Alert and willing to learn a wide variety of cleaning tasks

Education:
High School Diplomaor GED
Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Moderatelevel of mechanicalskills
  • Possess curiosity and always look for ways to improve procedures
  • Flexibility regarding work hours
  • Able to occasionally be involved on different shifts

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work a machine paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include:
  • Heat/Cold temperatures (inclement weather)
  • Indoor/Outdoor environment
  • Dusty environment
  • Noisy environment
  • Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes
  • Elevated Places

Must pass a physical abilities testwith or without reasonable accommodation with the ability to:
  • Frequently stand, walk, rotate,bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reachor lift at shoulder level,above shoulder level,and below shoulder level
  • Frequentlyclimb stairs and/or ladders
  • Occasionally lift up-to55pounds

Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.
