Job Title: Sanitation Worker (Day Shift 6am-2:30pm)

Job Description

This role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing industrial equipment and facilities to maintain a bacteria-free and contaminant-free environment. You will use a variety of tools and cleaning methods to ensure all areas meet strict cleanliness and safety standards in a fast-paced production setting.

Responsibilities

  • Clean stainless steel equipment and concrete floors using tools such as shovels, rakes, hoses, brooms, and brushes.
  • Inspect assigned areas after cleaning to ensure all tasks are completed thoroughly and meet sanitation standards.
  • Operate steam cleaners and foamers to apply cleaning solutions as directed.
  • Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE), including repairing or replacing items as needed to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Assist other sanitation workers as needed to complete tasks efficiently and support team goals.
  • Move and transport wheelbarrows, bins, and totes weighing up to 50 pounds safely and in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Support groundskeeping activities, including mowing and garbage removal, when required.
  • Operate a 200 psi high-pressure hose safely and effectively to clean equipment and surfaces.
  • Safely apply and remove cleaning chemicals, including chlorine, following established procedures.
  • Crawl under low equipment and access hard-to-reach areas to ensure complete cleaning and sanitation.
  • Follow all safety precautions, including chemical handling and lock-out procedures, at all times.
  • Work at a fast pace and complete assigned tasks within given deadlines.
  • Obtain and maintain forklift certification if assigned to operate forklifts.
  • Mix and prepare chemical cleaning solutions according to training and safety guidelines.
  • Adapt to working in loud or cold environments as assigned while maintaining focus on safety and quality.

Essential Skills

  • Experience performing cleaning, sanitation, or janitorial duties in an industrial, food production, food processing, or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to use cleaning tools such as shovels, rakes, hoses, brooms, and brushes to clean equipment and floors.

Work Environment

The work involves physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, crawling under low equipment, and moving items up to 50 pounds, all within a fast-paced production setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.10 - $19.10/hr.
