Fabrication Technician
Pay Rate: $20 - $25/hr DOE
Benefits include health, dental, and vision (eligible on the 1st of the month following 60 days your start date).

Shifts: Day Shift Monday-Friday 2pm - 10:30pm
Location: Santa Rosa CA 95403
Tekberry is looking for highly qualified and motivated Fabrication Technician to work on-site with our client, a top-tier technology company in Santa Rosa, CA. These are full time temp to hire, day shift, positions.
The Fabrication Technician is responsible for cutting our coated glass wafers into the parts that we ship to our customers.. Will work on moderately complex manufacturing processes and perform metrology calibration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Cutting coated glass wafers
  • Operating CNC machinery as well as some manual machines and robot operation, experience with similar equipment
  • Perform wafer disposition and data analysis.
  • Assist with logistics support in set-up, scheduling, and managing the workflow in the chambers
  • Perform routine maintenance and changing fluids on equipment. Trouble shoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing)
  • The job does need some basic computer familiarity to be able to move work tasks through our M.E.S. reading and replying to emails and performing occasional trainings online
  • Multitask and work with a high degree of accuracy, high attention to detail
  • Previouse Experience in optical manufacturing and/or any manufacturing environment; experience in optical coating, assembly, metrology, disposition, cleaning, fabrication Required

PREFERRED ABILITIES:
  • CNC Machinery expierence a plus
  • Mechanical/scientific aptitude or interests
  • Self-starter/works well alone and with limited supervision
  • Team oriented and driven to meet goals and improve processes
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting, and executing detailed instructions, short correspondence (e.g., e-mails, texts, instant messaging)
  • Skilled in writing simple, informational, and technical correspondence
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing methods/tools (5-s, root cause analysis, continuous improvement cycle)
  • Some college, Associates Degree in any of the sciences; mechanical, electrical, physics, engineering technology preferred
  • Comfortable around machinery & computers

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Material handling, equipment, and test protocol
  • Wafer fabrication, including thin films, photolithography, electroplating, etch, lapping, and probe.
  • Various lab equipment and testing equipment
  • Electronic and computer technology
  • GMP and SOP
  • Proficiency in mathematics and scientific principles/units
  • Quality systems and statistical knowledge
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Work within a manufacturing environment
  • Will sit 20%-90% of time / stand 10%-80% of time depending on job assignment
  • Be able to use hands to handle delicate product and very small objects in addition to tools, equipment, or controls
  • Be able to reach overhead and work on a ladder/elevated heights
  • Be able to work in various positions, including but not limited to, reaching, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time
  • Be able to work extended hours (overtime) when required
  • Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
  • Use of solvents and cleaning substances, lasers, sharp objects, & high heat equipment
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 35 pounds of weight on occasion
  • Clarity of vision to see close and mid-range
  • Temperature is moderate within work environment
  • The noise level in the manufacturing environment is moderate, but occasionally can be loud
