What is a Day Shift Shag Driver?

A Day Shift Shag Driver, also known as a yard jockey or yard hostler, is responsible for moving trailers and containers within a warehouse yard or distribution center during daytime hours. Their main duties include positioning trailers for loading and unloading, organizing the yard, and ensuring that the workflow between the warehouse and transportation runs smoothly. Day Shift Shag Drivers typically operate specialized tractors or trucks designed for short-distance movements rather than road driving.
