Position Title:Facilities Housekeeper

Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Summary: Responsible for all housekeeping and floor cleaning tasks assigned in and around the Casino. Cleans and maintains the appearance of the casino and the administrative buildings public areas and restrooms, and other assigned areas, while following safety guidelines and policies and procedures to achieve Odawa Casino Resort standards of quality utilizing established standards of service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
  • Greet all Guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Ensures all public areas of casino are ready for operation by thoroughly cleaning, dusting, polishing, sweeping, mopping (dust, spot or damp), auto-scrubbing and vacuuming.
  • Ensures various types of carpet and upholstery are cleaned.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
  • Operates and maintains all cleaning equipment to include floor and carpet cleaning equipment.
  • Follows all safety and chemical guidelines and organizational policies.
  • Provides guests and fellow Team Members assistance, instruction and/or guidance.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies. Cleans sinks, countertops, toilets, fixtures, and all other applicable restroom needs.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Performs duties as assigned when responding to building and weather related emergencies.
  • Attends required department meetings.
  • Completes all required training satisfactorily.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Work at other properties as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, stoop, extend arms overhead, push and/or pull equipment weighing up to sixty (60) pounds and carry weight up to twenty-five (25) pounds or more.
  • Must be able to work with a variety of cleaning chemicals.
  • Must be able to read and understand warning labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must be able to work well and tactful with both internal and external guests and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently on a team with minimal supervision.
  • Must adhere to regulatory, safety, departmental and company policies.
  • Must be flexible with shifts and days off with the ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, special events, etc., as needed.
  • Frequent exposure to dust, dirt and chemicals associated with cleaning agents.
  • Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
