Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Day Shift

Location: Newport News, VA | Detox and Inpatient Treatment Center
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time | Day Shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Compensation:

  • LPN: $24-$29 per hour
  • RN: $33-$39 per hour

At Pyramid Healthcare's Detox and Inpatient Treatment Center in Newport News, we are proud to provide 24/7 medically supervised, evidence-based care for adults in need of detoxification and stabilization. Our structured, non-hospital setting serves the Virginia Peninsula, including the Tidewater region and parts of Hampton Roads. Clients engage in dynamic therapeutic programming and receive unwavering support from a dedicated multidisciplinary team focused on long-term recovery and mental wellness.

Summary

We invite you to join our enthusiastic nursing team as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the day shift. In this role, you will play an important part in delivering essential nursing care within our detox and stabilization environment. You'll collaborate closely with a passionate multidisciplinary team to support clients through their detoxification journey while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct nursing assessments for new admissions during daytime hours
  • Administer medications in accordance with medical protocols and closely monitor client responses
  • Apply detox protocols and perform regular COWS and CIWA assessments as needed
  • Monitor vital signs, document observations, and respond proactively to emergent needs
  • Provide compassionate support and reassurance to clients during detox and stabilization
  • Communicate effectively with on-call providers and assist with daytime medical needs
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support individualized client care
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment throughout the day shift
Qualifications

For LPN:

  • Active LPN license in the state of Virginia
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
  • Previous behavioral health or substance use treatment experience preferred

For RN:

  • Active RN license in the state of Virginia
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
  • Previous behavioral health or substance use treatment experience preferred
