Job description

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician II - Day Shift to join our team located in Richmond IN.

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, and resolving complex issues related to motors, pneumatics, tools, and production machines and equipment.

Mon- Thurs 5:00 am - 3:30 pm and Fridays as needed.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Provide a safe work environment by demonstrating, and enforcing all company safety policies, ensuring that all required PPE and/or safety equipment is utilized.
  • Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMs), receive work orders through a variety of means and submit requests for parts and equipment
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on production machinery and equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems using a variety of tools and techniques.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of machinery and electrical hardware and software upgrades.
  • Communicate professionally, accurately, and concisely with Production as to important repair steps taken, parts ordered, and time estimated until completion.
  • Participate in daily shift meetings, prioritizing and reviewing work orders to schedule daily work.
  • Use analytical tools to determine RCFA, Failure Modes, and Condition-based Monitoring results and use that data to drive improvement.

Your Credentials:

  • Minimum five years of industrial, hands-on Maintenance experience.
  • Strong break-fix and preventative maintenance experience
  • Strong analytical ability, including the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform complex repairs.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and demonstrated commitment to enforcing company safety policies.

The hourly rate starts at $26.00/hr.
