UW Medical Center-Montlake - General Internal Medicine Center (GIMC) has an outstanding opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Per diem schedule / variable hours per week
  • Must be available to work 8-hour day shifts between 8:00am and 5:00pm
  • Must be available to pick up shifts Monday-Friday (our clinic is closed on weekends)
  • Preference will be given to RNs who can regularly work at least 1 shift per week

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The General Internal Medicine Center (GIMC) is a dynamic teaching clinic that provides patient-centered care with the best available medical evidence. The GIMC provides comprehensive services for adult patients, including behavioral health care, chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and primary care services.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides phone triage on a daily basis
  • Answers patient MyChart messages
  • Follows up on medical records and test results
  • Assists with patient admissions and record keeping
  • Completes patient paperwork, including forms for insurance authorizations
  • Provides nursing advice in person, via phone, and via telehealth
  • Educates patients and their families on home care and follow-up care
  • Occasionally assists providers with routine procedures, including catheter changes and wound care

REQUIREMENTS
  • 2 years of RN work experience in primary care, urgent care, or a medical-surgical setting
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
  • Active BLS certification
