Can radiology tech be part-time?

Yes, radiology technologists can work part-time positions, which often involve fewer hours per week and may offer flexible scheduling. The choice depends on personal preference for work schedule, but job duties and qualifications remain consistent across shifts.

Is there a shortage of rad techs?

The demand for radiology technologists is currently high due to increasing healthcare needs and a growing aging population. Many regions experience a shortage of qualified rad techs, leading to competitive salaries and opportunities for those with proper certification and skills in imaging modalities like X-ray, CT, and MRI.

Who gets paid more, MRI or CT techs?

Radiology technologists specializing in MRI generally earn higher salaries than those specializing in CT scans, due to the more complex equipment and longer training requirements. Both roles typically require certification and can vary based on experience, location, and work setting, but MRI techs tend to have a salary advantage overall.

What do rad techs do day to day?

A radiology technologist's daily tasks include preparing patients for imaging procedures, operating imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT, or MRI machines, and ensuring images are of diagnostic quality. They also maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and document procedures, often working in hospitals or clinics on a scheduled basis. Certification and technical skills are essential for accurate imaging and patient care.
