Job description

Position Summary

 

We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Shift Supervisor to join our manufacturing plant team. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and performance of a designated production shift, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. Your strong leadership skills and manufacturing expertise will play a vital role in maintaining efficient operations and driving continuous improvement.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

 

·        Lead and supervise a team of production operators, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to meet production targets and quality standards.

·        Responsible for the overall performance of the shift, including productivity, product quality, and adherence to safety regulations.

·        Set daily production goals and priorities and effectively communicate these to the team.

·        Monitor production processes and identify potential areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions as needed.

·        Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and quality control measures.

·        Collaborate with other supervisors and cross-functional teams to optimize production flow and resolve any operational issues.

·        Train and develop production operators, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.

·        Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including shift reports, production logs, and inventory tracking.

·        Participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.

·        Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among the team.

·        Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize production output.

·        Assist in hiring and onboarding new team members as needed.

·        Key member of plant emergency response team.

 

 

Education and Experience

 

·        Bachelors Preferred/High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational education in a relevant field is preferred.

·        Proven experience as a Shift Supervisor, preferably in a manufacturing plant or similar environment.

·        Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices for operational efficiency.

·        Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.

·        Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to effectively handle challenges and resolve conflicts.

·        Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

·        Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

·        Proficient in using computer systems and software for data entry, reporting, and analysis.

·        Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.

·        Strong communication abilities with all levels of the operations.
