Job description

Venture Dynamics is seeking experienced Inside Machinists to join our team in supporting the repair and ongoing functioning of US Naval Vessels in Hampton Roads
Sets up and operates machine shop tools. Manufactures precision parts, fits and assembles parts to make or repair metal parts, mechanism tools or machines.
Must have knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures.
Studies and understand specifications, such as blue prints, sketches or descriptions. Plans sequence of operations to achieve finished product.
Sets up and operates lathes, mills, drills presses, planers, or grinders to machine parts to specifications, using measuring instruments.
Operate machine tools in varying tolerances according to need (from ½ thousands upwards).
Verifies dimensions and alignment, including making sketches that reflect size and configuration with precision measuring instruments.
Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
Must have 5+ years of knowledge and experience as a Inside Machinist.
Must have Shipyard experience.
Must have own trade tools.
Must be a US Citizen
Must be able to pass a drug screening.
Must have reliable transportation.
