Job description

Location: Hybrid / UC Business Center
Department: Pharmacy Admistration 
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours/Weekly 
Shift: First Shift

UC Health is hiring for a full-time Pharmacy Informatics Analyst in Pharmacy Administration at the University of Cincinnati's UC Health Business Center.  

Facilitate workflow analysis to identify application development requirements & lead the identification of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) solutions utilizing a method of planning, analysis, design, building, testing, implementation evaluation and documentation. Serve as lead technical resource for the integration of the EPIC application with other vendor systems (especially those related to Pharmacy). Provide advanced consultative resource & EMR application support for employees utilizing EPIC pharmaceutical related applications (i.e. Willow IP, Willow AMB, Beacon, etc.) throughout UC Health. This position will have additional responsibilities related to pharmacy automation support, including Omnicell applications and hardware. This automation support will focus on the system wide responsibilities of integration, workflow optimization, and ongoing operational support as needed.

Education: 

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED

License and Certification

  • Required: EPIC Certification in application module

Experience: 

  • Two years IT, or related experience, as well as project planning/implementation/upgrade training preferred.
  • Certified Pharmacy Tech or equivalent experience preferred.
  • One year EPIC experience preferred (including implementation and/or upgrade).

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $31.88/hr.- $44.48/hr.

The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and other requirements for the position.

Project Management & Support- Support & lead the design, development and implementation of new, enhance, or updated EMR requests (especially those related to Medication Use). Coordinate & facilitate communication between internal & external parties on project/tasks related issues & developments. Consult & support end users to develop & validate requirements for system solutions.

Build, Configure & Testing Management- Gather, prepare and analyze user requirements for system design. Ensure module, third party vendor integration impact in configuration. Participate in dose review. Develop, facilitate and execute testing scripts & document testing outcomes & procedures. Follow appropriate UCH Health change management & migration requirements in each environment. 

Production Support- Provide technical support & problem resolution of production issues. Assist in analysis of complex issues following up with end users & other team members as appropriate. Customer centered incident management support & feedback (timely & effective follow-up with customers). 

Training/Education- Provide information needed for end-user training, when changes are made to existing applications/systems. Assist as needed with any job aides, or other educational material that might be necessary to ensure application training is supported to deliver high quality patient care. Training environments are maintained to assist in on-going training & testing. 

Miscellaneous- Maintain proficient knowledge & professional skills through cross-training, vendor education, etc. Keep current on departmental & UC Health required training & documentation. Maintain EPIC certification(s), educating & communicating system changes to training personnel, co-workers and/or customers. Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in project related meetings. Prepare & submit detailed documentation to ensure "knowledge transfer" occurs. Performs other duties as assigned.
