Job description


We are seeking an experienced Informatics Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team. This unique role blends clinical pharmacy practice with healthcare technology, giving you the opportunity to improve medication safety, optimize pharmacy workflows, and support the systems that help deliver exceptional patient care.

Hours/Shift: Full Time/Rotating
Position Purpose: The Informatics Pharmacist is responsible for supporting pharmacy software applications and participating in the procurement, installation and support of other computerized systems in collaboration with the leadership and staff of other departments within the organization.
The Department: Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) is the sole community hospital. Our department encompasses over 60 employees to serve our population's health. These are exciting, busy times in our Pharmacy as we provide a full suite of pharmacy care services from acute care and transitions into emergency services, ambulatory, home, and telehealth care areas. A solid infrastructure to support our pharmacy services is in place, with our current focus to optimize and integrate our services. These service focus areas include: Inpatient, Emergency Department pharmacist direct patient care, Care Transitions - medication reconciliation/meds to beds before hospital discharge, outpatient and specialty pharmacy drug distribution, 340B Program and financial integrity expansion, oncology clinical model expansion including oral chemotherapy and pharmacogenomics, PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program, Stewardship-Antimicrobial and Opioid, and expansion of our pharmacist collaborative practice model Disease Management Clinic. Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the pharmacy expert for pharmacy information systems, software applications, and technology initiatives.
  • Support and optimize pharmacy software, automation systems, and interfaces with the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and IT teams to implement, test, maintain, and improve pharmacy technology solutions.
  • Support computerized provider order entry (CPOE), medication management systems, inventory systems, financial applications, and diversion detection software.
  • Participate in pharmacy technology implementations, upgrades, workflow improvements, and system optimization projects.
  • Analyze data and generate reports to support quality improvement initiatives, medication use evaluations, and operational decision-making.
  • Provide education, training, and ongoing support for pharmacy staff and interdisciplinary users.
  • Assist with formulary management and promote safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective medication use.
  • Provide clinical pharmacist services, including medication therapy monitoring, pharmacokinetic dosing, clinical consultation, and documentation.
  • Supervise pharmacy support personnel and assist with competency development.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science Pharmacy or Pharmacy Doctorate Degree
  • Licensure: Licensed in the State of Arizona or will consider candidates eligible for Arizona licensure
  • Experience: 2+ years of pharmacy technology systems experience in an acute care setting. Experienced in word processing, spreadsheets, database applications, and desktop publishing.

Work Requirements: Must distinguish colors. Sit approximately 37% of the time; stand 30%; walk 33%, and carry/lift 25 -75 pounds; Duties have possible, but not routine, potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, and exposure to chemicals, biological, and radioactive substances.
