Job description

The EWP Yard Associate is responsible for the safe and accurate handling of engineered wood products by receiving, cutting, staging, and loading materials according to customer specifications. This physically demanding, outdoor role requires advanced forklift operation, power tool usage, precise measuring skills, and a strong commitment to safety and product quality.

Success in this role requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in varying weather conditions, and a focus on maintaining accurate inventory and high-quality customer deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, store, pull, and stage engineered wood products accurately and safely using forklifts and manual material handling techniques.
  • Use cutting tools, including chainsaws and circular saws, along with tape measures to build engineered wood product job packages according to specifications.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for quality and report or dispose of damaged products as needed.
  • Maintain clean, dry, and organized outdoor storage areas to help preserve product quality in varying weather conditions.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials and support team members with daily yard operations.
  • Follow all safety procedures while performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds and working outdoors for extended periods.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift up to and over 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors and endure extended exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or operations-oriented environment preferred.

Requirements:

  • Satisfactory result on a pre-employment drug screening
