Job description

Are you an experienced CNC Programmer who enjoys taking a project from print to finished part? We are hiring a CNC Programmer for a direct-hire opportunity with an established manufacturing operation in Elgin, IL. This CNC Programmer position is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable programming, setting up, troubleshooting, and operating CNC equipment—especially in a short-run and prototype environment. If you’re looking for a hands-on CNC Programmer role where your machining knowledge and problem-solving skills are valued, this could be an excellent next move.

Perks & Benefits

  • Direct-hire opportunity — join the company directly from day one
  • $79k-$84k annually, based on experience
  • Day shift, Monday–Friday — 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Hands-on position working with short-run and prototype projects, offering variety beyond repetitive production work

Must Haves

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience with strong hands-on setup and operating knowledge
  • Experience programming CNC equipment using Mastercam and G-code
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and weld symbols
  • Experience with machining processes including milling, turning, and drilling
  • Strong knowledge of precision measurement tools, including height gauges and calipers

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines for precision, short-run, and prototype machining projects
  • Develop CNC programs, select tooling and fixtures, and determine the appropriate machining approach for each job
  • Read engineering drawings and specifications to produce parts accurately and efficiently
  • Inspect completed parts, monitor machine performance, make adjustments, and troubleshoot programming or machining issues
  • Work closely with production team members and welders, including designing and manufacturing custom fixtures when projects require them

Nice to Haves

  • Strong proficiency with CAD/CAM software
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices
  • Experience designing or fabricating custom fixtures for unique machining projects
  • Mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Ready for a CNC Programmer position where you can use the full range of your machining skills instead of simply running the same parts every day? Apply today for immediate consideration.
