This role exists to improve programming efficiency, standardize CNC processes, and ensure seamless communication between engineering and the shop floor.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Interpret detailed engineering drawings, including materials, tolerances, heat treatment, and design intent
  • Develop efficient CNC programs based on blueprints, models, and routing sheets
  • Standardize programming practices to improve consistency and productivity
  • Create and maintain clear programming documentation for shop use
  • Collaborate closely with machinists, engineers, and quality teams
  • Optimize programs for cycle time, tool life, and machining efficiency
  • Support troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives

Machines, Programming & Software

You will work with:

  • CNC Milling & Turning Centers (multi-axis environments)
  • CAM Programming Software (Surfcam preferred)
  • CAD Software (SolidWorks / similar 3D modeling tools)
  • Vericut simulation software (beneficial)
  • G & M Code-based programming environments
  • Engineering drawings and digital manufacturing documentation

What We’re Looking ForRequired

  • 3+ years of CNC programming experience
  • Strong proficiency with CAM software (Surfcam preferred)
  • Solid understanding of CAD and 3D modeling applications
  • Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
  • Strong understanding of engineering documentation and routing sheets
  • Knowledge of G & M codes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred

  • Vericut experience
  • Prior CNC machining or setup experience
  • Strong background in process optimization or job shop environments
