Job overview
Lead and inspire a dedicated warehouse team at the heart of our craft beer and wine distribution operation. This hands-on role ensures the smooth, safe, and efficient flow of exceptional products—from the moment they arrive to when they're ready to head out to our customers. As a first-line leader, you’ll guide daily warehouse activities, oversee accurate receiving and product placement, and cultivate a team culture that reflects our passion for quality, craft, and customer service.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop associates through training on policies and procedures
- Foster a work environment that encourages open communication
- Monitor a variety of operational information to ensure employees are following proper methods of operation
- Lead continuous coaching and counseling of employees
- Perform regular safety and operational inspections, reporting safety hazards and concerns along the way
- Ensure timely maintenance of equipment and uphold the condition of the warehouse
- Analyze expenses and costs of current operations, and make recommendations for improvement
- Coordinate with management team to identify sources of shrinkage and assist with action plan development
- Prepare various reports and forms like accident reports, inventory reports, inspection reports, absence reports, repair orders, safety recommendations, and equipment maintenance or replacement requests
- Complete additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment
- Familiar with inventory control, OSHA, and regulatory requirements
- Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures
- Excellent customer service skills
- Outstanding verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with minimal errors
- Must be a team player and work well under minimal supervision
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Ability to work in hot and cold conditions and in all types of weather
- Experience with material handling equipment (i.e., hand truck, dolly, pallet jack)
PREFERRED
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous management experience
- Previous experience in food service, beverage, or distribution industries
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Working conditions
- Warehouse environment
- The noise level in these areas is normally moderate, but can be loud at times
- Temperatures can vary based on season
Physical requirements
- Must be able to safely complete lifting up to 30 lbs. continually (15 or more loads per hour)
- Must be able to safely complete lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently (10-15 loads per hour)
- Must be able to safely complete lifting between 75 and 175 lbs. occasionally (1-10 loads per hour)
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, climb, squat, and reach continually (5-8 hours per day), with occasional (1-4 hours per day) sitting
