Starting rate of pay:
$20.09/hour plus $1.50 shift differential on night shift.
Shifts Available and Hours:
Day and Night 12-hrย shift continental schedules - (7.00AM - 7.00PM) or (7.00PM - 7.00AM).
What you will be doing
- Operate various equipment.ย
- Inspect equipment daily to ensure proper safety devices are in place (i.e. guarding) and notify leadershipย of any safety concerns.
- Visually inspect work for defects.
- Remove billet from furnace,ย guide it along extrusion press conveyor onto press bed, and into billet container.
- Startย ram that spreads billet into container and forces it through press.
- Regulateย rate of extrusion to prevent metal rupture and adherence of metal to container walls.
- Startย press run-out table and butt shears to guide extrusionย from press, and to trim flash.
- Pullย extrusion along conveyor to racking table.
- Sprayย die with lubricant and caustic, and oils blocks and mandrels.
- Recordย data, such as crew time, number of billets used, and items processed.
- May operate extrusion press equipped with furnace that ejects hot billets intoย press chamber for ram to forceย through die,
- Inspect or measure using precision measuring instruments, such as tape measure, calipers, height gage,ย micrometers, etc.
- Read blueprints to the extent necessary for theย job at hand.
- Set up and operate extrusionย press to shape hot, aluminum profiles.
- Responsible for quality parts, within the scope of responsibilities and required to visually inspect parts andย identify obvious flaws or manufacturing problems.
- Sponsor and support of all Continuous Reliability Improvement standards and practices through implementedย predictive measures.
- Other duties as assigned.
What will make you successful?
- Priorย knowledge of extrusion department desired.
- Prior machinery experience a plus.
- Manufacturing experience a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
- High school diploma or G.E.D equivalentย preferred but not required.
- Basic computer skills required to maintain tolerances where gauges or test equipment areย provided.
- Must have ability to communicate.
- Work well with all employees at all levels.
- Willingness to learn new processes.
- Work with limited supervision.
