About Paragon Professional Services

About this position: Guard            Location – US Embassy in Moscow, Russia/Washington, DC

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Wage/Salary Range: $51.45 /per hr.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·         Guards staff static posts throughout the Embassy compound. While standing posts guards will conduct access control and screening procedures, vehicular inspections, and roving patrols.

·         The Guard(s) shall possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent with two years’ experience in the military, police or commercial guard.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

·         Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent

·         Level of Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 Years experience in the military, police, or commercial guard force.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

·         Able to use a computer including all common office management tools (e.g. Microsoft Office)

·         Performing security duties at fixed, or roving patrol posts

·         Providing assistance to local authorities in thwarting criminal and terrorist acts

·         Performing access control duties to limit entry to authorized personnel or visitors

·         Operating of walk-through metal detectors, hand-held metal detectors, X-ray inspection machines, electronic hydraulic barriers, itemizers, and special monitoring devices; and

·         Completing written operational and administrative logs. Have a valid US driver's license with a clean driving record in the past 3 years;

Supervisory Responsibilities

·         This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements

·         This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

Employees shall be in good general health, without physical disabilities that would interfere with acceptable performance of their duties, including standing for prolonged periods in performance of guard duty and conducting roving patrols on foot in inclement weather. They shall possess binocular vision, correctable to 20/30 (Snellen) and shall not be colorblind. They shall be capable of hearing ordinary conversation.

Work Environment

The work environmental characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the role. Employees must always maintain a constant state of situational awareness. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical Setting: The position is both indoor and outdoor duties including roving foot patrols in sub-zero and deep snow during winter months.

Schedule and Flexibility: The Schedule is 5-day work week for 12 hours a day. Includes day and night shift.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
