Job Summary
The position supports Monson Fruit's packing and warehouse operations by performing a variety of manual and production-related tasks. This role involves sorting, packing, bagging, box making, segregating, and handling product with care to ensure product quality and efficiency throughout the packing process.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sorting Booth
Remove cull product from the water bath and conveyor system by manually transferring individual fruit to designated conveyors and discarding defective fruit into cull boxes positioned at the workstation.
Sorting Booth
Sort product on the conveyor line, identify cull produce, and transfer acceptable product to designated conveyors or side chutes at waist level while maintaining product quality and line efficiency.
Bagging Line
Operates at an automatic bagging station by positioning plastic bags, handling filled bags weighing 3-8 pounds, sealing them using an automatic tying machine, and placing finished bags onto a moving conveyor while rotating through multiple stations.
Packing Line
Arranging product into trays, filling boxes with completed trays, pushing filled boxes onto conveyors, retrieving empty boxes from various heights, and continuously repeating the packing process to maintain production flow.
Box Maker
Load flattened cardboard into the box-making machine, inspect assembled boxes to ensure quality standards are met, and place completed boxes onto rollers or hangers for use in packing operations.
Segregating and Palletizing
Read box stamps to ensure proper segregation, gently handles product, stack boxes neatly onto pallets up to seven boxes high (49 boxes per pallet), and lift heavier loads as required for palletizing tasks.
End-of-Shift and General Duties
Clear production lines at the end of each shift, maintaining a clean and organized work area, following safety and operational guidelines, and performing other assigned warehouse-related duties.

Qualifications
  • Ability to work up to ten (10) hour shifts, four (4) days per week, with occasional weekend work.
  • Ability to follow company policies, safety rules, and operational guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Prior warehouse or agricultural packing experience preferred but not required.

Physical & Sensory Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and use hands and arms repetitively for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in wet, cold, or noisy environments common to produce packing facilities.
  • Ability to visually inspect produce for quality defects.
  • Ability to hear and respond to machinery sounds, alarms, and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods to ensure safe operation and compliance with safety regulations

Work Environment
The work environment is a fast-paced warehouse and produce packing facility that includes exposure to conveyor systems, automated machinery, wet floors, cold or refrigerated temperatures, noise, and repetitive motion tasks. Employees may work while standing for extended periods and in close proximity to moving equipment and other team members. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety procedures is required at all times.
