Your Job
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Process Controls Engineer for our Neenah Technical Center R&D operations team. In this role you will work closely with engineering, maintenance and operations to support pilot plant equipment. Typical operation is weekdays day shift only. This role typically does not require on-call, weekends, nights, or travel.
Our Team
The Neenah Technical Center is the central site for research, development, and lab services for Georgia-Pacific's North American Consumer Products business. Our consumer brands are household names throughout North America - Quilted Northern® and Angel Soft® bath tissue, Brawny® paper towels, Dixie® plates and bowls, and many others. We also produce products such as enMotion® towels and dispensers, as well as Smart Stock® cutlery dispensers for commercial markets. Many of the store-brands at your favorite retailers are our products too!
What You Will Do
  • Lead projects, troubleshoot equipment, program and tune loops in Experion DCS/QCS, program ControlLogix PLC, troubleshoot and commission VFDs
  • Create and maintain electrical documentation using AutoCAD and Vault
  • Support areas of the R&D facility as needed (papermaking, converting and facilities).
  • Assist with instrumentation inspection, troubleshooting, calibration, testing and spare parts inventory.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar engineering/technical degree
  • 3+ years of experience in process controls, automation, or industrial systems.
  • Experience with DCS and PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial communication networks
  • Experience working with instrumentation, process control principles, and manufacturing systems.
  • Troubleshooting, analyzing, and problem-solving experience in a manufacturing environment
  • AutoCAD experience

  • Experience with QCS (Quality Control System)
  • Experience in papermaking, tissue manufacturing, converting, coatings or related industries.
  • Programming and troubleshooting Honeywell Experion DCS
  • Programming and troubleshooting Rockwell PLC and HMI
  • Troubleshooting VFDs and motor starters
  • Troubleshooting steam systems
  • Troubleshooting burner systems
  • Experience with Process network and server management
