Automation Engineering Manager - Japan & South Korea

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities in all types of project sizes and complexities, under the supervision of senior engineers. Each day, you will complete the tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design.
The work model for the role is: hybrid # LI-Hybrid
This role is contributing to the Machine Automation division in South Korea. The main stakeholders are customers, sales teams, and project partners within the industrial automation business.
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Developing and implementing automation solutions based on customer and project requirements.

  • Conducting system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support at customer sites.

  • Preparing technical documentation, including system specifications, test reports, and user manuals.

  • Programming and configuring PLC, HMI, motion-control, and industrial communication sys-tems.

  • Providing product training and technical guidance to customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborating with sales and project teams to define suitable technical solutions.


Qualifications for the role

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in industrial automation or machine automation.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical, electronic, control, automation engineering, or a related field.

  • Practical experience with PLC and HMI programming and commissioning would be preferred.

  • Knowledge of motion control, servo systems, industrial networks, and communication protocols.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required. (30 - 50%)

  • Business-level Korean and good written and verbal communication skills in English.
