What you'll doReporting directly to the Head of Strategic Finance, you will play a critical role in shaping Airwallex's financial trajectory and influencing strategic decisions across the company. This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of strategy, finance, and execution. You will work closely with senior leaders to evaluate opportunities, track performance, and ensure capital and resources are allocated to the areas that matter most. Your work will guide where we invest, how we scale, and how we stay accountable to our long-term goals.
You will bring strong financial modelling and analytical skills, paired with the strategic thinking required to solve open-ended problems and influence decision-making. Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain robust financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic planning and day-to-day operational decision-making
  • Shape and communicate the company's financial narrative through materials for investor updates, board presentations, and internal leadership reviews
  • Support capital markets readiness by building financial scenarios, aligning internal metrics to external positioning, and preparing for potential fundraising or strategic transactions
  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate the financial feasibility and strategic implications of key initiatives, including market expansion, product development, and strategic transactions such as partnerships, joint ventures, and M&A
  • Analyse business performance to identify drivers, surface issues, and drive actions that strengthen execution and enable sustained, profitable growth
  • Evaluate capital deployment across teams and initiatives, and support investment decisions that align with the company's strategic goals and long-term priorities
  • Provide financial and strategic support on high-impact, cross-functional projects

Who you are

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, or a related field

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to break down complex problems, distill business implications, and develop actionable recommendations

  • Proven ability to take ownership and drive end-to-end execution, even in ambiguous or evolving contexts
