Job description

RV/TRAILER TECHNICIAN
Reports to: Operations Manager, Williamsburg VA
Job Description: Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, or overhauling recreation vehicles including travel trailers as well as tractor trailers. This individual should have experience with the following components; maintaining gas, electrical, hydraulics, plumbing, and chassis/towing systems as well as repairing generators, appliances, and interior finish work. This full-time position will work first shift, Monday through Friday, and be based out of Colonial Truck and Trailer Service in Williamsburg, VA.
Responsibilities:
  • Locate and repair frayed wiring, broken connections, or incorrect wiring
  • Repair plumbing and propane gas lines
  • Examine and test operation of parts/systems to ensure completeness of repairs
  • Inspect, repair, and replace brake systems
  • Remove damaged exterior panels, repair, and replace structural frame members
  • Refinish wood surfaces on cabinets, doors, moldings, and floors
  • Performing preventative maintenance on RV and tractor trailers
  • Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts including tires
  • Ensuring trailer meets the US Department of Transportation road safety requirements
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations

Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, and exceptional understanding of mechanical and technical information
  • Be able to work at a fast pace with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to multi-task and adapt easily to different types of tasks
  • Have a strong attention for details
  • Should have a "team first" attitude and maintain our team atmosphere even in stressful situations
  • Needs to be able to operate a forklift
  • Must pass a drug screening
