Job description

Minimum Qualifications
·         Must be 18 years old or older
·         Must receive TB clearance and satisfactory Health screening prior to first day of employment
·         Must receive satisfactory background clearance via LIVE SCAN fingerprinting and documentation of criminal record statute prior to first day of employment
·         High School Diploma or equivalent documentation of education background must be provided
·         Must have completed a 40-hr RBT training program or have the ability to complete it within the first 30-days of employment.
·         Must have a class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Report daily to Lead Assistant and/or Program Director
·         Work with and supervise assigned clients
·         Supervise and/or assist clients in toileting, diapering, dressing, grooming, bathing and other hygiene and activities of daily living as deemed appropriate.  If client is unable, you will be required to actively assist them in changing
·         Clients may need help during lunch and snacks including, but not limited to, active assisted feeding, food preparation and clean up
·         Modifications/adaptations to methods may be necessary to achieve a desired behavior for client’s benefit
·         Collaboration with Behavior Intervention Specialist on an as-needed basis to address specific client needs
·         Ability to become certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, as scheduled by organization
·         Ability to hold and annually renew Registered Behavior Training (certificate not required)
·         Ability to intervene in client behaviors appropriately, as directed
·         Ability to complete Continued Education Units (8 hours per year) in related field 
·         Attend employee in-services, meetings and professional developments as scheduled
·         Must actively monitor (line-of-sight) client(s) at all times; must have the ability to “chase” client in the event of eloping/fleeing.
·         Physical ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, sit and stand as needed for proper engagement of the client (up to 25 lbs.)
·         Physical ability to assist clients in standing or sitting in a chair or on the floor (holding/carrying clients up to 75 lbs. with help from other staff members.)
·         Actively engage the client at all times throughout the day.
·         Complete daily notes/documentation as directed
·         Ability to properly use verbal praise and behavior reinforcement(s)
·         Other related duties as directed
·         Safely transport clients to community engagement trips (jobs/volunteer work/parks/stores/etc.)
Other
·         Experience working with individuals with multiple disabilities a plus
·         Experience working with Assisted Living clients a plus
·         Bachelor’s degree or some college course work in a related field a plus
