Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The day program receptionist receives and directs visitors, answers all incoming telephone calls, makes necessary photo copies, and tracks billing notes and daily program attendance. The Receptionist produces required documents utilizing computerized word processing equipment.
Salary: $17.50/hour
Shift: Monday-Friday; 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Location: Lockport, IL
REPORTS TO: PSR Director
NETWORK OR DEPARTMENT: Network 4 PSR
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answers all phone calls, directing calls when appropriate, takes and delivers messages as necessary.
  • Maintains attendance log for program participants.
  • Tracks billing assignments for therapeutic staff and works closely with the data coordinator
  • Receives visitors, notifies appropriate person(s) of the guest's arrival.
  • Makes photo copies and distributes as requested.
  • Maintains the office supplies in an orderly fashion, initiates a monthly inventory of supplies and orders as necessary.
  • Maintains various files containing confidential info
  • Completes special projects as requested.
  • Communicates with other departments to assist program participants as necessary.
  • Assists with clerical tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants, coworkers, and their supervisor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Must possess the ability to follow directions; able to manage frequent interruptions; ability to work independently.
  • Needs to display appropriate boundaries with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to learn new systems as necessary.
  • Outstanding attendance practices are essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Lift over 40 pounds from floor to waist unassisted.
  • Push and pull up to 75 pounds; push wheelchairs up to 200 pounds.
  • Perform physical movements such as squatting, stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Stand, sit, or remain stationary for prolonged periods.
  • Drive and operate motor vehicles.
  • Engage in repetitive motions using hands and fingers for computer and phone use.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma required
  • Knowledge in the use of personal computers and photo copying machines.
