Are you passionate about technology and love working with kids? MakerKids is hiring enthusiastic, tech-savvy instructors to lead our on and offsite STEM programs.

Role Overview

As a STEM Instructor, you'll guide kids aged 6-13 through exciting STEM projects during our afterschool and weekend classes. You'll help kids explore the world of tech using tools like Micro:bit, Scratch, Minecraft, and more. We're especially looking for instructors with past experience with kids, knowledge of text based coding, game development, and daytime availability (preferred but not mandatory).

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach engaging STEM classes in Coding, Robotics, and Minecraft, with a focus on fun, creativity, and exploration.
  • Lead students through project-based learning using platforms such as Scratch, Python, Roblox Studio, Unreal Engine, and Unity.
  • Adapt lessons for a variety of skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and inspiring environment for all students.
  • Communicate with parents as needed to share student progress and enthusiasm.
Location
  • MakerKids Mississauga 1900 Fowler Drive, Mississauga
    (Some off-site locations such as schools or community centers may also be included. Ability to drive is a strong asset but not required.)
Hours
  • Variable - Part to full time hours
    • Hours vary depending on the season and scheduled programs (e.g., camps, workshops, after-school classes).
    • We aim to provide as many hours as you're available to take on - from part time up to full-time.
    • Team members with wider availability are given priority scheduling and first choice of programs.
What We're Looking For
  • A student or graduate in STEAM fields
  • Previous experience working with kids mandatory (tutoring, camps, coaching, teaching, etc.)
  • Creative, energetic, and enthusiastic about making tech education fun
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
Requirements
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (or willingness to obtain before start date)
  • Successful candidates must pass a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
