We do not accept paper applications or emailed resumes. Summary of Job The Manitowoc Senior Center and Recreation Division is looking for a Yoga Instructor. Classes are held during the day (preferably mornings) with options to do night and/or weekend classes.

Must be willing to work with all fitness levels. Experience required, yoga certification recommended. Under administrative supervision, this position is responsible for the planning, promotion, development and supervision, of a specialized activity of recreation as a community-wide program.

Responsibilities Investigate, recommend, demonstrate and explain techniques and procedures Investigate and recommend materials, equipment, and supplies for use in specific program hired for. Ability to communicate effectively with program participants. Demonstrate the skill ability of the specific program being taught.

Care for equipment, supplies, records and facilities. Consult with the administrative staff in planning the program and special events and follow department procedure in carrying out activities. Cooperates with other department personnel in planning, promoting, organizing, and scheduling sessions and special events.

Keep proper records and prepare required reports as requested Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: No specific education requirements Experience: Teaching or assisting a specific skill or program hired for. Certifications/Licenses: Preferred certification/license in specific skill Other Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities This position must possess the full knowledge of the specific skill being taught, such as, but not limited to- dance, baseball, tennis, soccer, arts, crafts, Zumba, RIPPED, etc.

This position must be able to establish and maintain positive public relations with parents/guardians, students, other department personnel. This position must be able to help students and/or parent/guardians, recognize and understand developments and achievements. This position needs to be able to respect and take care of equipment; use all required safety equipment; have the ability to inspect and report to the supervisor of any equipment needs; prepare and maintain records and activity reports.

This position must have the ability to identify and notify the supervisor of any accidents, rescues, or problems that have arisen; present a professional appearance and attitude at all times; maintain a high standard of customer service; and adhere to rules and regulations encompassing communication, working relations, job reliability and initiative, safety, accomplishment of work tasks, and supervision. * The City anticipates filling these positions pending Committee approval and funding.
